Dive Brief:
- Buildots, a startup that turns jobsite footage into digital twins for contractors, has raised $130 million in a funding round, the company announced Monday. O.G. Venture Partners led the round.
- The Tel Aviv-based startup lets contractors upload their captured video footage of jobsites to produce 3D digital twins of the builds, according to the announcement. It brings together the footage with schedules and models to create what it calls “the control tower” of large construction projects.
- Buildots works with several construction stalwarts in the U.S., including JE Dunn Construction, Mortenson and STO Building Group. It also partners with Hochtief, the parent company of Turner Construction, the largest builder in the U.S. by revenue.
Dive Insight:
Buildots said the rapid expansion of data center construction projects alongside the onshoring boom has created higher timelines and higher stakes, which are the impetus for a change in how construction delivers its projects.
To that end, the company claims it can deliver results with its access to high-quality data, a notorious roadblock for builders. In a January op-ed for Construction Dive, Amir Berman, vice president of industry transformation at Buildots, argued that a lack of standardization in data is holding construction back from meaningful progress.
“Too often, data is an afterthought — something grudgingly collected for compliance or reporting,” Berman wrote. “Critical insights remain buried in spreadsheets and email threads, and project knowledge evaporates when teams disperse.”
The investment also represents another vote of confidence in established contech firms with proven applications across the construction industry. Buildots, which completed a $45 million Series D funding round in May 2025, now brings its total funding to $297 million, per the announcement.
Buildots is also seeing that confidence in its agreements with builders. The startup noted that seven-figure, multiyear contracts with clients are now standard, rather than exceptions.
Going forward, Buildots aims to scale into more construction portfolios across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, per the announcement. It also aims to add its capabilities to the entire construction lifecycle.
“The blind spot we solve for a data center is the same one that's been costing a school or a hospital for decades, just at much greater scale, which is why the world is finally paying attention,” said Roy Danon, Buildots’ CEO and co-founder, in the announcement. “The AI era will be built on schedule.”
