After hiring new head coach John Harbaugh, the New York Giants have made another offseason move. This time, the franchise will expand and transform their team headquarters in East Rutherford, New Jersey, according to a Monday team announcement.
The NFL team has enlisted architect EwingCole and contractor Natoli Construction to design and construct the expansion of the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. The project will add 93,500 square feet of space and renovate another 46,000 square feet.
Key enhancements, designed to improve player, coach and staff wellbeing on the property, include:
- A 6,000-square-foot expanded locker room with 100 lockers.
- An 11,000-square-foot weight room with a cardio mezzanine overlooking the indoor field.
- Advanced sports medicine and rehabilitation space tripling the facility’s current footprint.
- New recovery and wellness areas such as a sauna or hyperbaric chambers.
- Modernized player and team areas supporting preparation ahead of game day.
The Giants moved into the Quest Diagnostics Training Center — then called the Timex Performance Center — in 2010, according to Sports Illustrated.
Pine Brook, New Jersey-based Natoli Construction was the original builder of the sports complex, per its website. Natoli built the 104,000-square-foot headquarters and training facility alongside a 98,000-square-foot indoor practice facility with a turf field and a 6,750-square-foot maintenance building. Natoli also built four outdoor practice fields, a reception area, weight room, players’ dining room, players' meeting room, television production area and coaches’ offices.
Philadelphia-headquartered EwingCole is no sports construction rookie either. In 2025, the architect designed the temporary home for Major League Baseball’s Athletics at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, California, drawing up a 16,000-square-foot clubhouse in the underutilized outfield area of a minor league team’s ballpark.
The architect also provided designs in 2018 for the Baltimore Ravens’ Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Maryland, another NFL training facility.
The Giants’ HQ will continue to serve as the team’s base of operations during construction. The contract amount was not disclosed. The project is anticipated for completion prior to the 2028 season.
