California is suffering from one of the worst droughts in its history, but swimming pool contractors are as busy as ever.

Construction Monitor, which tracks building permits, reported that Californians built or rebuilt 11,000 residential swimming pools last year, more than any other year since 2007.

That number could rise to 13,000 this year, according to Capital Public Radio of Sacramento.
