RETEVIS Expands Rugged Jobsite Communications With RETEVIS RB48D DMR Radio

RETEVIS is expanding its construction communication portfolio with the RETEVIS RB48D, a rugged DMR radio for construction teams working in demanding jobsite environments. 

The new digital model builds on the rugged foundation established by the RB48 series while addressing another challenge on increasingly complex construction projects: helping multiple teams communicate clearly and efficiently around noise, machinery and changing work zones. 

For contractors, that reflects a broader reality. A jobsite radio needs to do more than transmit over distance. It needs to survive the environment, keep messages understandable and support the way crews actually work.

Rugged communication starts with the jobsite

Construction sites expose communication equipment to conditions rarely found in ordinary workplaces. 

Dust, rain, vibration, accidental drops and changing temperatures can all affect equipment performance. Workers may also need to operate radios while wearing gloves and moving between active work areas. 

RETEVIS designed its RB48 industrial radio platform around these conditions. 

The RB48 has passed 19 environmental reliability tests under the MIL-STD-810H testing framework, covering conditions including temperature shock, vibration, sand and dust, and immersion. The series also features IP67 dust and water protection for demanding work environments. 

These capabilities establish the physical foundation for reliable jobsite communication. 

But ruggedness alone does not solve every communication problem.

A large project can include supervisors, equipment operators, safety personnel, electrical crews, material teams and subcontractors working simultaneously.

The RETEVIS RB48D extends the RB48 platform into digital mobile radio, or DMR, while supporting professional construction communication requirements.
