Remarcable, Inc., the intelligent procurement and material operations platform for specialty contractors and suppliers, today announced it is now available to mechanical and plumbing trades, and has joined the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA).
The mechanical trade is growing under sustained demand from energy-efficiency requirements, heat pump adoption, data center cooling needs, and commercial climate control. HVAC mechanic and installer employment is projected to grow 8% over the next decade, close to double the average across all occupations. At the same time, the industry faces a structural labor shortage: 92% of construction firms report trouble finding qualified workers, and an estimated 41% of the current workforce is projected to retire by 2031.The industry is about to face a tipping point, as experienced purchasers and project managers leave the supplier relationships and pricing knowledge they carry leave with them, unless that knowledge lives in a system.
"We built Remarcable to improve how contractors buy and manage material, and to help them protect margin erosion. We proved it with electrical contractors over the past seven years. Mechanical and plumbing teams run on the same disconnected process of phone calls, emails, and spreadsheets, and they deserve the same connected platform. We are excited to add mechanical and plumbing contractors to the Remarcable community," said Clint Zhang, Founder and CEO of Remarcable.
Providing connected procurement and material operations for MEP contractors
Mechanical and plumbing contractors have long operated without a purpose-built procurement solution. Remarcable solved this in electrical, and now brings the same connected platform to mechanical and plumbing teams.
- Procurement. Purchase to payment automation, saving teams time and protecting margin erosion.
- Inventory Management. Complete visibility to every item on a shelf, on a truck, or on a job site – whether owned, hold-for-release, or VMI.
- Tool Management. Tools, owned and rented, and the trucks they ride in, all accountable to the right jobs, in the same system.
- Prefabrication. Connect the shop, purchasing, and the field so assemblies arrive on schedule, on budget, and ready to install.
- Delivery Management. Follow every request for inventory, tools, and prefab assemblies, so the field knows what is arriving and when, and who signed for it.
- Analytics. Quantify the data running through your teams into answers that protect margin on every job.
- Financial Integrations. Sync job, purchase order, and invoice data with the estimating, accounting, and project management systems contractors already run.
- Supplier Integrations. Connect directly into over 150 distributor’s catalog data and ingest PDFs with AI-powered OCR, so quotes, sales orders, and invoices line up for accounting.
The expansion builds on a platform already operating at national scale. Each month, contractors purchase more than $900 million in gross material value through Remarcable. The proprietary catalog carries more than 600,000 products with images and spec sheets, and connects contractors to a network of more than 1,300 distributors across more than 8,600 branches.
Remarcable built its mechanical catalog in partnership with mechanical and plumbing contractors, including JH Kelly. "The platform integrated seamlessly with our existing systems, enabling rapid adoption while minimizing disruption to day-to-day workflows. That level of tight integration ensured clean, reliable data flow and allowed teams to realize value almost immediately," said Traci Sillik, Director of Supply Chain at JH Kelly.
AI built into contractors everyday work
Remarcable Intelligence is the AI built inside the platform, rather than bolted on. The principle behind it is simple: AI that lives in everyday workflows, protecting margins, and quietly catching what could be missed and eliminating what should not be manual.
For mechanical and plumbing teams, that shows up in the everyday work:
- Find the right part fast. Semantic product search finds the right material, and smart material recommends related parts an order usually needs, directly in the ordering flow.
- Every document, one system. Process quotes, sales orders, and invoices from any supplier, directly integrated with their catalog or read by AI OCR.
- Catch errors before you pay. AI-powered 4-way match compares the purchase order, sales order, proof of receipt, and invoice, and flags any gap in price, quantity, tax, or freight before payment, at the automation level the contractor controls.
The result is that the everyday grind gets faster and more accurate inside the workflows teams already run, moving people from data entry to decisions.
Remarcable joins Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA)
MCAA has spent decades backing mechanical contractors with leadership development, project management training, and chapter-level education. Remarcable now joins that community as a manufacturer/supplier member.
The MCAA membership deepens a commitment to the specialty trades. "We're excited to welcome Remarcable as a new MCAA member in 2026. Their innovative approach to helping contractors strengthen relationships, build community, and elevate engagement across the industry aligns perfectly with the future of mechanical contracting. We look forward to the ideas, energy, and collaboration they'll bring to the MCAA community." said Lesley Ravas, Director of Manufacturers/Suppliers at MCAA.
Remarcable is connected procurement and materials operations software for specialty contractors and suppliers, with AI built into everyday workflows. The platform processes over $900 million in gross material value every month.
