American Global is extremely pleased to announce that Mike Destiche has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Surety. Mike is a well-respected industry leader with more than 30 years’ experience, with extensive expertise in construction surety underwriting, client advisory services, business development, and strategic relationship management.
In his new role, Mike will serve as a strategic advisor to contractors and construction industry clients, helping them navigate complex bonding and risk management challenges, while developing customized surety solutions that support long-term growth. Mike will also play a key role in expanding American Global's presence throughout California and the Western United States, strengthening client and carrier relationships, and supporting the firm's continued growth in the construction surety marketplace.
Throughout his career, Mike developed longstanding relationships with agents, brokers, and contractors. He has advised firms of all sizes–from regional construction companies to some of the largest contractors in North America with annual revenues ranging from $15 million to more than $20 billion. This broad experience provides Mike with a unique perspective on the evolving needs and challenges facing construction industry clients.

Prior to joining American Global, Mike built an impressive 30-year career with Chubb (and its corporate predecessors), advancing through a series of underwriting and leadership roles of increased responsibility. Most recently, he served as Pacific Region Construction Surety Manager, overseeing construction surety operations across the Western United States. In that position, he was responsible for the overall management, underwriting, and new business production of a portfolio that generated more than $70 million in written premium in 2025.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Fullerton. He has also completed various Chubb training programs, including the Chubb Leadership Development Seminar and Chubb Business School program.
