Wenatchee, Wash. — Goodfellow Bros., a leading heavy civil contractor serving the western United States and Pacific markets including Hawai‘i, announced Brian Gates’ promotion to President, effective January 1, 2026.  Additionally, Ed Brown has been appointed to the newly created Chief Operating Officer (COO) role.  Gates and Brown previously served as Division Presidents for the company in California and Hawai‘i, respectively.

As President, Gates reports to Chad Goodfellow, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goodfellow Bros., providing day-to-day executive leadership of the company, including direct oversight of all support services functions.  In his new role, Gates will help create and guide the company’s strategic roadmap, interface with key customers and drive sustainable, profitable growth across the organization. 

Additionally, Ed Brown will serve as Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Gates, and will oversee operational execution across Goodfellow Bros. and its affiliates. As COO, Brown will drive operational efficiency with a focus on safety, quality, schedule certainty, and cost performance.  He will work closely with the Division Presidents, Regional Vice Presidents and project teams to standardize field processes, optimize equipment and resource utilization, and strengthen workforce development.
