CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — November 3rd 2025 —
BuildFactory, a construction technology company developing an AI-native operating system for off-site construction, today announced it has raised $4.5 million in pre-seed funding led by Building Ventures, the leading early-stage investor focused on innovation in the built environment. The round includes participation from strategic venture and industry angels across the fabrication, construction, and technology sectors.
BuildFactory is building a unified ecosystem for the construction industry that begins with a B2B fabrication marketplace and expands into a single-pane-of-glass project interface that connects design, fabrication, and field operations. The company aims to eliminate the inefficiencies of fragmented workflows, disconnected software tools, and capital-intensive fabrication models that have slowed construction’s digital transformation.
“We backed BuildFactory because the future of construction is off-site, and that future needs a modern operating system,” said Jesse Devitte, Founder and General Partner at Building Ventures. “Britton knows this industry better than anyone. He’s been in the BIM department, on the shop floor, founded and scaled MSUITE, and now he’s building the platform that finally connects the supply chain from design through the field. Their bet on off-site is not just timely, it’s foundational.”
Connecting capacity with project intelligence
Founded by Britton Langdon, former founder and CEO of MSUITE, BuildFactory is designed to make off-site construction scalable by connecting contractors with vetted BIM and fabrication partners while providing real-time visibility into progress, logistics, and payments. The company’s marketplace enables contractors to upload order requirements, such as PDFs, spreadsheets, or Revit models, and automatically match with from qualified BIM and fabrication suppliers based on factors such as capability, proximity, and certification.
Once a project is awarded, BuildFactory manages fulfillment end-to-end, including contracts, milestone-based payments, and shipment tracking. For contractors, this means reliable BIM and fabrication capacity without the capital expense and complexity of owning a shop or design team. For suppliers, it creates steady throughput without constant bidding or administrative overhead.
“Every year, construction wastes nearly $500 billion globally on material overruns, rework, and delays, in part because our industry still runs on static files and buried email threads,” said Britton Langdon, Founder and CEO of BuildFactory. “We’re unlocking access to hundreds of BIM departments and fabrication shops and wrapping every transaction in structured coordination, milestone payments, and AI-driven visibility. That means fewer surprises, more predictable cash flow, and a documented audit trail that protects your reputation.”
Multiple products in one ecosystem
BuildFactory’s platform delivers a unified experience through two integrated products:
The Marketplace: Contractors submit BIM or fabrication packages through the BuildFactory platform, which returns a matched, qualified supplier and manages project execution with built-in contracts, milestone-based payments, and real-time delivery tracking.
The Project Interface: Launching early next year, BuildFactory’s AI-native interface will connect directly with tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, and others to create a single pane of glass for all project communications, documents, and supply-chain data.
Together, these products form a feedback loop between project intelligence and design/fabrication capacity, helping contractors make faster, better-informed decisions and allowing BIM companies and fabricators to scale their businesses efficiently.
Early traction and market demand
More than 200 BIM providers and fabrication shops, spanning Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing trades, are already vetted and onboarded to the BuildFactory network. This provides immediate capacity for contractors without internal fabrication capabilities or those facing peak demand. The public marketplace launched September 8, 2025, followed by the full software suite in Q1 2026. BuildFactory is already processing critical data center fabrication orders for its customers.
Langdon and his team believe BuildFactory represents a long-overdue modernization of how construction projects are managed.
“This industry’s complexity is exactly why we are doing this,” Langdon added. “We’ve lived it, from chasing down submittals and RFIs to running a 70,000-square-foot fab shop, to founding MSUITE. BuildFactory connects the supply chain into one intelligent system, cuts hidden waste, and gives everyone, from GCs to field superintendents to shop owners, fewer reasons to worry.”
