MANSFIELD, TEXAS – June 26, 2025 – Source Building Group, Inc. is pleased to announce key additions in leadership through promotions and new members to position the company for strategic growth and development now and into the future. 

Chet Farnsworth has been promoted to Vice President of Preconstruction Services, Abed Kaaki has been promoted to Senior Project Manager and Pete Valdez has an increased role as General Superintendent while the additions of Herb Reed, Vice President of Operations and Shawn Sinnie, Marketing Manager highlight a continued commitment by the firm to invest and onboard new talent. These additions were made to propel the company to new levels of success. All five leaders bring great expertise and experience in their prospective fields and will be instrumental in shaping the foundation for Source Building Group, Inc., moving forward. 

With more than 40 years’ experience within the construction industry, Chet Farnsworth has led and played integral roles in project management, estimating and operations throughout his career while also leading successful negotiations with trade partners across numerous projects. Attributing his professional growth to the mentorship and knowledge of others, Farnsworth has been exposed to several market sectors. He has led projects across a multitude of markets including aviation, multifamily, mass transit and transportation, hospitality, infrastructure, government, retail, and educational institutions.

In his new role, he will continue to be a central figure in business development ventures, client management, estimating and team building efforts.

Abed Kaaki is a seasoned Senior Project Manager with over 8 years of experience leading commercial construction projects from concept to completion. Known for his strategic approach, keen attention to detail, and strong leadership, Kaaki has demonstrated a deep understanding of budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and team coordination, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. He has worked closely with architects, engineers, trade partners, and stakeholders to bring complex visions to life, often navigating tight deadlines and regulatory challenges with professionalism and efficiency.

As an experienced commercial construction industry professional, Pete Valdez has been at the forefront of several high-profile projects. Described as a hands-on General Superintendent bringing over 25 years’ experience, Valdez is known for his leadership, precision, and commitment to delivering complex projects on time and within budget. His deep understanding of project sequencing, scheduling, and field operations makes him an invaluable asset on job sites across the region. He brings a proactive, solution-oriented approach to every phase of construction, earning the trust of clients, subcontractors, and colleagues alike. Driven by a strong work ethic and a passion for building, Valdez continues to lead with integrity and expertise, ensuring the successful execution of projects from groundbreaking to final turnover.

Herb Reed joins the company as Vice President Operations. He will lead all construction operations for Source Building Group, Inc., to streamline processes and procedures to ensure timely project completion and be a point of contact in the communication process with vendors and clients.

Reed brings more than two decades of experience in construction management, planning, project management and operations across a wide range of market sectors. He has led the completion of numerous projects across Texas and is highly regarded by his peers within the construction industry.

Reed’s passion for the built environment makes him an ideal addition to the Source team. With the expected growth the company is experiencing, Reed’s ability to adapt to current and future challenges will benefit every aspect of the project team.

With over 20 years’ experience in marketing and communications, digital concepts and graphic design manufacturing and the AEC industry, Shawn Sinnie leads the creative vision and brand strategy for the Source Building Group team. Throughout his career, he has led numerous projects to transform brand presence across web, print, digital and social media platforms. Additionally, Sinnie is a seasoned outside-of-the-box creative who works with company stakeholders to enhance brand presence and deliver artistic solutions to showcase brands proficiently. 

“I am truly excited about the opportunity to shape the visual identity and thought leadership from the ground up,” says Sinnie. “I am eager to lead marketing initiatives across a wide range of platforms to seek out creative solutions that push the boundaries of design to enable the company to achieve new levels of success.”

In his new role he will increase brand awareness through marketing and communications, design and storytelling to help develop innovative brand concepts and messaging across a myriad of platforms to ensure consistency for the Source brand.
