JRM Construction Management is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first American retail location for Swedish eyewear brand CHIMI at 110 Grand Street. Working in partnership with CAMPUS Architecture, Sargenti Architects, and Hallberg & Schnakel Engineers, JRM transformed this 1,800-square-foot space into a stylish, contemporary boutique that blends Scandinavian aesthetics with New York’s signature energy.

“We are honored to partner with CHIMI for their debut in the U.S. market,” said Joseph Schimenti, VP of Retail at JRM Construction Management. “From the precisely curved tapered walls to the custom lighting integration, our goal was to capture CHIMI’s forward-thinking aesthetic while delivering a functional, inviting retail environment.”

Key elements within the store include custom curved tapered walls sharpened to a precise knife edge and finished with artisan plaster, lending a sleek yet inviting feel to the store’s interior. JRM also furnished and installed custom aluminum fixtures and sophisticated millwork doors, while the ceiling features a specialty double-layer fabric system by New York Ceiling that imparts a modern look and feel. The boutique’s refined ambiance is further elevated by epoxy resin cast shelves and a custom reception desk, complemented by bathroom walls clad in tiles imported from Hoganas, Sweden.

Lighting plays a vital role in highlighting CHIMI’s eyewear collections, with new fixtures from Lucifer, FLOS, WAC, and Columbia Lighting all integrated via CASAMBI controls. The result is a beautifully illuminated and energy-efficient retail environment that underscores CHIMI’s commitment to innovation and JRM’s expertise in executing high-end retail projects.

This latest project further showcases JRM’s extensive experience delivering premium retail environments in SoHo, joining recent successful builds for renowned brands, including Aritzia, Axel Arigato, Staple Pigeon, Carhartt, Joybird, PacSun, and more.
