This morning, Raise Robotics announced it has raised a $2.2M pre-seed round.
Raise Robotics builds robotic equipment to help workers with challenging tasks on construction sites, making jobs safer and preventing rework. COO, Conley Oster says, “Our mission at Raise is to equip today’s workforce with robots that improve the safety and efficiency of on-site construction. We’re working closely with our customers to develop robots that collaborate with existing crews and fit into existing construction processes. By deploying robots to help with high-risk scopes of work, we can save contractors time and money, while improving working conditions for crews on site.” The company is currently providing fenestration and mass timber contractors with semi-autonomous machinery that completes bracket layout, installment and verification four times faster than standard methods.
The round included proptech and robotics investment leaders Cybernetix Ventures, Union Labs VC, and Zacua Ventures. “Construction is at the cusp of a seismic shift from an automation perspective. The dramatic acceleration of the labor shortage in the industry, coupled with the advanced abilities of robots today, makes the space ripe for disruption. We believe Raise Robotics is the right team at the right place to take advantage of this massive opportunity,” says Vivin Hegde, GP at Zacua Ventures explaining why they invested in Raise Robotics.
Over the coming year, the company plans to expand its leasing operations, hire additional engineers and establish a certification program for existing customers. Raise's CEO, Gary Chen, expresses his positive outlook on the future by saying, “We're excited to leverage the support from our new investors and partners in the construction industry to scale our solution to multiple construction sites across the country. Our goal is to help the industry move towards a safer and more efficient future.”
Since its inception in October 2021, Raise has established an Early Adopter Committee composed of DPR Construction, Lendlease, JR Butler Inc., Harmon Inc., and TSI Corporations. When asked about Raise, Henning Roedel, Robotics Lead at DPR Construction, said, “Raise Robotics is building a platform that will keep workers away from slab edges. Working at the edge of slabs is highly risky and usually puts workers in awkward ergonomic positions. We are excited for Raise’s potential to positively impact our job sites and look forward to continuing our relationship with them.” The company is looking forward to nationwide deployments with EAC partners beginning this quarter.
