Suffolk, one of the nation’s most successful and innovative builders and real estate enterprises, has hired Thomas Cossu as Vice President, Project Executive in New York, continuing its rapid growth and expansion of its operation in the New York Metro region Mr. Cossu will be responsible for overseeing building construction projects, encouraging the implementation of sophisticated technologies on jobsites, and working closely with partners and project teams to minimize risk and deliver the highest-quality projects to clients.

Prior to joining Suffolk, Mr. Cossu spent 20 years at Plaza Construction where he managed a number of high-profile restoration projects including Rockefeller Center Plaza and City Hall in Lower Manhattan. He also worked on luxury condo projects at 400 W. 12th St. (Superior Ink), 150 Charles St. and 111 Murray St. Mr. Cossu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Accounting from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from the New York Institute of Technology.
Suffolk has experienced significant growth and expansion of its New York operation and team over the past several years. Suffolk New York currently employs 160 individuals, up from just four in 2015. To accommodate its rapid growth, Suffolk recently announced the relocation of its New York office to more than 24,000 square feet at 50 Rockefeller Plaza. The interior buildout of that space will be completed in May 2022.
Suffolk has also grown its project portfolio in New York and was responsible for managing construction of notable, high-profile projects including Quay Tower and The Landing at Brooklyn Bridge Park, 640 Columbia Red Hook Logistics, Summit NYC at 222 East 44th St., multiple projects for New York University, and Hudson Exchange West in Jersey City.
