PCX Ships Modular Electrical Skids to One of World's Largest Social Media ProvidersPosted May 04, 2021
Raleigh, NC -- PCX Announced the company has completed shipment of 14 fully integrated, modular electrical skids for one of the world’s largest social media providers. The skids, which include uninterruptible power supply (UPS) back-up battery systems and electrical power distribution switchgear, will be utilized by the client for power distribution in a hyperscale data center, while providing critical backup power in the case of an outage.
The modular electrical skids were developed to enable and open the social media provider’s data center faster, while minimizing the need for skilled on-site labor and mitigating safety risks. Speed was a key emphasis during both the development and manufacturing periods, as the overall lead time was expedited to fit within a 10-week span, following the solution’s engineering process. In addition, the size of the modular electrical skids was designed and optimized for quick installation into the client’s facility, with the entire install being achieved in less than eight hours on-site.
Mark A. Di Lillo, PCX President and CEO stated the modular approach was invaluable for meeting the client’s desired needs and providing the necessary solution to enable their successful data center energization. “The client required speed of deployment, a wealth of technical expertise and the highest quality solution to meet their data center and power needs,” said Di Lillo. “They understand the benefits of both the modular approach and working with a partner, like PCX, that can provide a fast-to-market, scalable and easy-to-integrate solution, utilizing modular construction.”
