EquipmentShare Creates More than a Dozen High-Paying Jobs in Richmond, Va. Market with New Digital and Equipment Solutions Location
The company is currently hiring for a number of positions at its Colonial Heights facility.
RICHMOND, Va. — EquipmentShare, an equipment and digital solutions provider serving the construction industry, recently opened a new location in Colonial Heights, Va. to serve the greater Richmond area construction market. The new facility is located at 1800 Ruffin Mill Circle in Colonial Heights, Va. This is the company’s second location in the state of Virginia, with the first located in Virginia Beach.
With the opening of its new location comes the creation of nearly 20 higher-than-average-paying jobs in the equipment and material-handling sector. As post-pandemic construction activity continues to ramp up, the location’s General Manager David Arnold is hiring for various roles, including mechanics, service technicians, technology installers and drivers, to serve at the Richmond yard. EquipmentShare’s average hourly compensation rate for these positions is vastly higher than the area’s industry average in 2019, as reported by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
“Our team is our number one priority, and we believe they deserve to be compensated accordingly,” EquipmentShare CEO and Co-founder Jabbok Schlacks said. “We’re excited not only to give our Richmond customers the equipment and technology they need to succeed at their jobsites, but to also provide industry professionals with a fulfilling and good-paying career at EquipmentShare.”
In 2020, Glassdoor named EquipmentShare one of the top growing companies in the country, despite the pandemic. Recently, Forbes named the company on its 2021 list of America’s Best Startup Employers based on employee satisfaction, employer reputation and growth. The Richmond location’s rental fleet includes general heavy equipment, steel track heavy dirt equipment and power solutions. The location also offers EquipmentShare’s proprietary smart jobsite technology, which recently earned the company the 2020 Fleet Management Technology Company of the Year award by the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards. In addition to offering job opportunities, Arnold looks forward to introducing the market to EquipmentShare’s access control keypad and technology solutions.
More than a rental company, EquipmentShare outfits its fleet with durable tracking hardware connected to a cloud technology platform to give contractors visibility into their jobsite and accelerate productivity. Rental customers can access important fleet, personnel and jobsite information through EquipmentShare’s technology solutions to manage work shifts and employee time tracking, meet safety compliance, reduce machine theft and analyze digestible and dynamic fleet data. EquipmentShare’s cloud-connected keypads, which replace universal keys, offer many security and safety benefits to customers.
“Our keypads allow contractors to add or delete access codes from anywhere to restrict machine access, which means unauthorized operators are kept out of the cab,” Arnold said. “The functionality of our fleet management technology combined with our access control keypad is going to have a huge impact on productivity in our market. It’s going to help our customers hit the ground running as they approach peak construction season.”
