The Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) announced its sixteenth annual Construction Industry Workforce Development (CIWD) Awards and called upon the industry to continue its progress in promoting construction workforce training and recruitment across the United States and Canada. CURT is committed to give significant national/international recognition to companies and organizations that implement effective recruitment and training programs that develop first class craft-workers and managers.
CURT is an association of leading corporations in the United States and Canada, dedicated to the promotion of cost effective construction methods. CURT members recognize that training, education and recruitment are essential to excellence in construction project delivery. As a result, CURT founded the CIWD Awards to recognize companies and organizations for extraordinary, exemplary and innovative recruitment, training and education programs, which encourage people to pursue careers in construction.
Applications were received representing national trade associations, contractors, unions, local labor-management associations, owners, educational institutions and public school systems. Many thanks go to the CURT Construction Industry Workforce Development Awards Committee, Co-Chaired by Eddie Clayton, Contracting & Workforce Development Strategies Manager, Southern Company, and Ed Luckenbach, Manager - Field Execution, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
