NAWIC installs 2019-2020 national president and new board members
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) installed Diane Mike, CBT as its National President during NAWIC’s Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019. Mike, Construction Administrator for ERDMAN, has been a member of NAWIC since 2005.
“The 2019 – 2020 National Board of Directors is a diverse group of women who are giving of their time and talent to represent our association. Each of these women bring their unique expertise and experiences to the table, providing diverse perspectives to help build the future of our association and our industry.” said Mike.
Diane’s goals for the upcoming year include continued efforts to grow membership and partnerships, as well as promoting educational programs that introduce construction to young people.
Mike’s theme for her year in office is “Paving New Roads to Construction”, and she strongly believes that, “We must remove the barricades and barriers, fill the potholes, and pave smoother roads for women to enter this male-populated industry and have successful careers.”
NAWIC also installed officers President-Elect Anne Pfleger, CIT; Vice President Jill Hanson, CDT, CIT; Treasurer Karen Hager, CBT, CIT; Secretary Lauline Mitchell; and Immediate Past President Dove Sifers-Putman, CBT.
In addition to officers, the NAWIC board is comprised of a director from each of the association’s eight regions. Each director serves a two-year term and is elected by her peers to bring the wishes and needs of the chapters to the attention of the association. NAWIC Region Directors installed include:
