SAN ANTONIO – Skanska USA has announced that Chris Hillyer, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in construction, has been promoted to senior vice president of preconstruction in the Central region.
Hillyer, who will be based in Skanska’s San Antonio office, joined the company in 1996 and most recently served as vice president of preconstruction. In his time with Skanska USA, Hillyer has continued to advance preconstruction services in Texas. He has extensive regional project experience, including the Methodist Hospital expansion and renovation and Bank of America Tower (formerly Capitol Tower).
In this new role, Hillyer oversees preconstruction efforts throughout Skanska USA’s Central region, which includes Texas, Arizona, Tennessee and Ohio markets, to deliver a smooth transition from the design phase to construction.
“Superior preconstruction services are essential to Skanska’s long term success,” said Steve Stouthamer, executive vice president of project planning of Skanska USA. “Chris’ effective leadership has played a vital role in our ability to provide quality preconstruction services to our Texas market and we are confident that in this new leadership position, he will help us achieve the same success for clients in these other markets.”
Hillyer received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Eastern Michigan University. He currently resides in San Antonio.
