The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 332 in San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) announced today they are making a holiday gift donation of over $17,000 for toys and food to the Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose.
The toys and gifts will be distributed on December 19th and 20th by Sacred Heart Community Service to individuals and families in need, including 6,200 kids and 3,000 families.
The IBEW/NECA donations include fifty 20” Huffy bikes and helmets, Kindle Fires, Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth headphones, jewelry, bath and body products, and 700 hams, according to Stacey Casados, Compliance Officer for the Joint Electrical Industry Fund (JEIF).
Twenty volunteers from The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers caravanned on Friday December 14th from the IBEW Local 332 Union Hall to Sacred Heart Community Service to deliver the toys. Volunteers from IBEW/NECA built the bikes and packed the toys.
Casados said IBEW/NECA is making the donations “because it is important to be engaged with our community. We want to show we care and make a positive impact.”
