IBT of Miami receives award for dedication to workforce inclusion in Peru
MIAMI – Dec. 10, 2018 – IBT of Miami has been recognized for its performance in creating an inclusive workforce environment in Peru.
The Association of Good Employers (ABE) of the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AmCham Peru) gave IBT the “Best Program of Inclusion” award at a recent ABE Prize ceremony. IBT developed two major hospitals in Lima, Peru, whose call centers employ people with disabilities.
“We are extremely proud to receive the Best Program of Inclusion Award that recognizes the program we established in Lima to employ the disabled. All our employees hired through this program bring vital skills and dedication to the workplace, something that every employer seeks,” said Daniel Toledano, managing director and chief operating officer of IBT of Miami.
IBT was recognized in 2015 by Peru’s National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities for developing the ambitious program at the hospitals in conjunction with DKV Foundation Integralia, a foundation founded in 1999 to advance the interests of the disabled. The call center program at the Guillermo Kaelin de la Fuente and Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thomson hospitals has a staff of more than 40 disabled employees.
The recent Fifth Annual ABE Prize recognized one company in each of 16 categories for contributions to good labor practices and the impact they generated in companies and in society. The winning companies were selected from 66 companies that presented 150 cases of good labor practices.
