Since multifamily structures must be designed in accordance with the requirements of UL for fire-resistance, USG has undergone extensive testing to ensure USG gypsum-based floor preparation products will keep your project code compliant in fire-rated assemblies.
All USG’s gypsum-based product solutions are manufactured under the Classification and Follow-Up Services of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). USG’s gypsum-based product solutions are classified by UL and are tested per the Standard ASTM E119/UL 263 for use in more than 130 fire-rated floor/ceiling assemblies. Each bag carries the UL Marking with the designation “Type LRK”, “Type HSLRK” or “Type CSD”.
Only products with UL type designations can be used to renovate or rehabilitate compromised gypsum underlayment used in a one or two-hour UL fire-rated design. Not only will USG Gypsum Underlayment Repair Solutions help you maintain code compliance for fire, but the products may also contribute to meeting the requirements needed for sound control per Section 1207 of the International Building Code® (IBC®).
