PHOENIX (Feb. 12, 2018) — McCarthy Building Companies Inc. (www.mccarthy.com) recently promoted Bryan Kuster to vice president operations for the Southwest division.

He is currently leading one of the most complex projects for McCarthy Southwest – the construction of the $120 million Biodesign Institute C at Arizona State University. Kuster’s extensive knowledge of the construction process been instrumental to the team’s collaborative approach, and his proactive approach to problem solving is positioning the project as one of ASU’s most successful construction projects to date.
Kuster joined McCarthy in 2005 as a project engineer. He has vast experience in education construction and has completed dozens of projects in Arizona and New Mexico over the past decade, including the LEED Gold Sedona Performing Arts Center at Red Rock High School in Sedona, Ariz. Over the next few years, his focus will remain in higher-education and bioscience projects.
“Bryan’s confident management style and proven ability to find solutions to the most complex construction challenges have positioned him as a strong leader in construction operations,” said Justin Kelton, president of McCarthy Southwest. “His extensive project management background combined with his respectful and collaborative nature make him ideal for this leadership role.”

He is a member of the Arizona Builders Alliance and serves as the Education committee chair for their Young Builders Council (members who are under 40). He is also a member of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and the Alliance for Construction Excellence (ACE), the latter of which allows him to maintain connections with his alma mater, Arizona State University, and continue his construction education.
