Dive Brief:
- A Washington windstorm Saturday toppled an elementary school construction site in the town of Pasco.
- Winds gusted around 60 mph, toppling the wall frames and girders in the front section of the school.
- Work began on the $47-million project, initially scheduled to open for the 2014-15 school year, in June.
Dive Insight:
Needless to say, even though only wall frames and a few girders were in place, this setback might delay the school's opening. The school was among the worst damage in the windstorm, which also turned over a tractor trailer on Highway 397 and created tumbleweed hazards on Highway 240.
