Dive Brief:
- Note to Congress: Delays and avoiding issues have real effects, as evidenced by an 11% fall in road construction in June.
- The fall-off put highway construction for June at $4.2 billion, which was $500 million behind June 2013. It also erased gains that had been made since last year.
- However, bridges and tunnels were a counterpoint, with $3.02 billion put in place for 3% growth over the year-before figure.
