• Construction is the industry in which users are most accessing information from mobile devices and are sharing it to collaborate, according to a study conducted by a cloud-information-management company called Box Inc.
• The other industries in the study were: media and entertainment, software, financial services and manufacturing.
• For the study, which Box said tracked how data moved but not the content itself, the company used 60 companies, each with 100 to 1,000 employees, from among its 225,000 business customers.

The sharing of data can vary widely, from a lot of traffic among a few individuals or offices to minimal sharing with a subcontractor who needs only certain information. Box had expected to see the software industry being the heaviest users of mobile platforms, but it turned out that software companies are building the platforms and construction makes heavy use of them in the field, one of the project leads at Box, Stephanie Hagio, said.
