Sweden-based builder and developer Skanska made two major promotions within its U.S. building operations, the firm announced Oct. 2.
Effective immediately, Jenny Chandler Graham has been promoted to executive vice president and chief strategy officer and Tieg Murray Rustam to vice president of market strategy and creative services, according to a news release.
A 20-year Skanska veteran, Graham most recently served in the role Rustam is assuming. As CSO, Graham will lead Skanska USA Building’s long-term strategic planning, drive internal alignment and oversee a 120-person strategy team in the areas of marketing, data analytics and emerging tech. Graham will report directly to Clay Haden, president and CEO of Skanska USA Building as part of the firm’s senior leadership team.
Graham will succeed Anita Nelson, who recently assumed executive oversight of Skanska Advanced Technology and Skanska Integrated Solutions.
Skanska announced it was expanding its advanced tech unit in September. The move combined its data center construction team with its semiconductor delivery group to better capitalize on the market’s opportunity.
In her previous role, Nelson oversaw the company’s rollout of a suite of internal artificial intelligence products, or “Sidekicks,” to its employees. Moving forward, Graham will oversee the data solutions team, which is in charge of the Sidekick tools, Peggy Cook, communications director for Skanska USA, told Construction Dive via email.
Similar to Graham, Rustam is a Skanska veteran, having worked at the U.S. arm of the builder for almost 19 years, per the announcement. Serving most recently as senior director of market strategy, Rustam led growth planning across sectors including higher education, K-12, science and technology, mission critical and healthcare.
"Jenny and Tieg exemplify the kind of leadership that drives Skanska forward—strategic, collaborative, and deeply committed to our people and our purpose," Haden said in the release. "Jenny’s vision and enterprise-wide impact have helped shape our future, and Tieg’s ability to connect strategy with execution makes her the perfect leader to continue that momentum.”
