Dive Brief:
- San Jose, California-based electrical subcontractor Rosendin is moving its headquarters after it purchased two new office buildings five miles north of its current home, the company announced in a Sept. 17 news release.
- The 130,944-square-foot property contains mirrored two-story Class A office buildings, which will allow Rosendin to create a unified work hub to fit its expanding team, the company said.
- In addition to future plans, Rosendin will be able to tap into Silicon Valley’s labor talent and bring together its expertise in data centers, healthcare and renewable energy, a company spokesperson told Construction Dive via email.
Dive Insight:
The company says the two office buildings, located at 3000 and 3030 Orchard Parkway in the city, will help manage future growth, which has been rapid under CEO Kevin Douglas, who took the reins in January 2024. By staying in San Jose, the employee-owned company keeps its roots in the city where Moses Rosendin founded it in 1919.
Rosendin also selected San Jose-based architecture firm Arc Tec to renovate the office space, per the release. The goal of the renovation is to create a modern, collaborative environment for the company that supports its technology-driven approach to building.
The tech-focused move comes at a time when data center construction, hot going into the year, continues to surge with seemingly weekly announcements of multibillion dollar deals. Even as builders approach Q4, demand continues to grow for these behemoth projects, and large public contractors are pouncing on the opportunities data centers can provide.
“The new campus will enhance collaboration and create a more efficient work environment that supports our employee-owners and the complex projects we deliver for our clients,” said Matt Hisaka, Rosendin’s CFO, in the release.
