- The owner of a mall in a converted industrial building in south Minneapolis blames a construction mistake for the toppling of roof trusses put in place as part of an expansion from two stories to four.
- Basim Sabri of Sabri Properties, which owns the Karmel Somali Mall, said framers had been working late, were tired, and did not secure one end of the trusses.
- The wind came and the trusses fell like dominoes, Sabri said, but claimed there had been no structural damage.
