- A house for sale in the U.S. is now averaging six to seven weeks on the market after distressed sales are factored out, the National Association of Realtors says.
- In 2009, average time on the market peaked at 10 weeks for traditional sales. Distressed sales normally go slower and raise averages, and July was at 69 days when calculated that way.
- The market nationally is returning to a normal balance between sellers and buyers, the association's chief economist, Lawrence Yun, said.
