• When asked what they think IPD is, 45% of public owners at a Mortenson Construction seminar said it was a mindset, an approach to getting projects done, while 40% said it was a way of writing contracts for a project.
• The audience had varied levels of understanding about IPD, but only 16% had used it officially in work in their communities.
• As for what is supposed to be accomplished on a project, regardless of what you call the process, the audience voted most for "trust among team members" as the most important thing (38%) and tied on "effective communication" and "commitment to teamwork" (19% each).

Mortenson's report makes it pretty clear that everyone wants projects built for their communities to be done with drama among the people and companies involved because 56% of them said it's the owner who benefits from the service providers becoming a team. It appears, however, that something is keeping them from encouraging or insisting on making it happen.
