Dive Brief:
- PCM Construction Management, based in Moosic, Pa., is the target of claims by the Internal Revenue Service for $51,000 in unremitted employer tax collections and corporate income tax, and FBI agents took documents from the company's offices last week.
- At the same time, a subcontractor, Cerminaro Construction, has won a judgment against PCM for $256,000 for work on a project.
- Carpenters Combined Funds Inc. has sued PCM for pension, medical, and other benefit contributions after its lawyer won a judgment for $25,000 but found $374 in PCM's bank account.
Dive Insight:
The FBI and the United States attorney for the region are, not surprisingly, not saying what the FBI seized or why. PCM has been involved in several large projects in the Scranton area, including a veterans-housing project for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton that was partly funded by federal funds, which it was when Cerminaro worked for the firm.
