- Ohio said it is going to get going on $2.9 billion in highway and bridge projects that will be funded by money generated by the issuance of Ohio Turnpike bonds.
- The state Transportation Review Advisory Council gave the plan its approval Thursday.
- The state Department of Transportation said some projects could start within weeks, including a Cleveland Inner Belt bridge for which Gov. John Kasich announced plans a little more than a year ago.

The DOT gave credit to the boss because it was Kasich who proposed that the state sell bonds based on Ohio Turnpike operations. The $2.9 billion is going to be spread among 40 projects that otherwise might not have been going anywhere.
