- A 1939 house design by American icon Frank Lloyd Wright has just come from paper to reality on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.
- The Usonian house is part of the tourism and education center on the campus where several Wright-minded buildings have been erected.
- A lot of the materials for the house, including 2,000 interlocking blocks and nearly 6,000 hand-inserted colored glass blocks – were hand-crafted.

Wright saw Florida Southern as a "college of tomorrow" and began working with it in 1938. There are now 13 Wright buildings on the campus, giving Florida Southern the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world. The Usonian house had never been built before anywhere.
