Meritage Homes says it's opening a division in Charlotte, N.C.
The company went into the markets in Raleigh, N.C., and Tampa in 2011.
The Southeast expansion is being led by Meritage's Orlando office.
Charlotte is the largest metropolitan area in North Carolina and the second largest banking center in the U.S. behind New York City, with a diversified industrial structure, low cost of business and a well-educated population base.
