KB has done a number of multifamily ventures in the San Francisco area, so the condo project is not new to the company. The land KB bought is the site of a one-story grain warehouse that survived the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 and fires that followed it, and the project is preserving the warehouse facade at street level.
