Dive Brief:
- One of two men buried under debris when a wall collapsed during a demolition project in Vernon Hills, Ill., died at a hospital of his injuries, officials confirmed Friday.
- The man, whose name was not immediately released, was with a crew doing demolition Thursday night of a Ruby Tuesday's restaurant at the Westfield Hawthorn Mall.
- Vernon Hills police and Occupational Safety and Health Administration personnel were trying to determine how and why the incident happened.

The demo work was being done so a Maggiano's restaurant could be built on the site. The accident happened about 11 p.m. Thursday, and it wasn't clear why crews had to work at night. The second worker who got hit by the bricks and concrete was much less seriously injured.
