Some of the most attentive pupils at a home-improvement class in Far Rockaway, N.Y., are homeowners who are facing the imminent threat of foreclosure.
As one participant at the class taught by a retired banker said, "I am still trying to make a positive out of a negative."
Walter Mullins, who told The Wall Street Journal he was able to retire early after helping do some lucrative bank mergers, said he always like to play with tools, but he wound up in banking when his father told him to go get a job.
