At year's end, construction sites across the country often don lights and other festive displays. To capture some of this creativity, Construction Dive asked readers to submit photos of their jobsites decorated for the holidays. 

We've chosen some of the best and brightest submissions and rounded them up below. Read on to see the photos and learn a little more about the projects.

PCL Construction, Vancouver, British Columbia

Located at the site of a $1.7 billion construction project for the new St. Paul's Hospital, the "Lights of Hope" display is an annual fundraiser located at the entrance of the current hospital, according to a PCL spokesperson. It's decorated with lights and other holiday vestments, and corporate sponsors can purchase a star that's displayed in the light show. Funds from the stars go toward medical equipment, research and other avenues for the hospital. PCL purchased a star in 2021.

While PCL is building the new hospital nearby, the contractor wanted to express its solidarity with the hospital's initiative, and built their own version of the display at the entrance to their construction site. The new hospital is expected to be completed in 2027.

Holland Construction, San Diego

Holland Construction decorated a crane in downtown San Diego with holiday lights. The company is using the crane to create a new 37-story high-rise, with 431 apartments for rent and over 200,000 square feet of space. The building is scheduled to open in the summer of 2024.

Holland Construction is a part of Holland Partner Group, which is based in Vancouver, Washington.

Leeward Construction, Wayne County, Pennsylvania

Leeward Construction is a utility, civil and asphalt paving contractor located in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This family business, which spans several generations, set up the light display adjacent to a major thoroughfare on the company's shop property in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. 

The display is created annually, and this year's spectacle, orchestrated by Leeward President Gary Linde, depicts Santa loading presents on a conveyor into a CAT Rock Truck. This annual display of cheer has become a staple in the local community, according to an employee with the company.

Lendlease, Chicago

This "all-hands-on-deck" Christmas tree is located in the construction management office of Lendlease projects Cirrus and Cascade, two adjacent residential towers going up in Chicago's Lakeshore East neighborhood. It includes a safety vest, hard hat and bags of workers' favorite snacks.

Cirrus is a 47-story, 350-unit condominium tower that is scheduled to open early next year and Cascade is a 37-story, 503-unit luxury apartment tower that recently welcomed its first residents, according to a Lendlease official. Both buildings were developed in conjunction with the adjacent Cascade Park, a public space that connects the neighborhood with the city's lakefront path.
