• Gunfire erupted at an apartment building construction site near the University of Texas campus in Austin on Wednesday when a fired worker came back gunning for the foreman and the foreman drew his own weapon and shot back.
• The foreman was seriously hurt, but apparently inflicted more serious injuries on the shooter, officials say.
• The Pointe on Rio apartments are under construction at Rio Grande Street and MLK Boulevard.

Austin police said the foreman, whose name had not been released, had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and had it with him legally at the job site. They also did not release the name of the man who fired at the foreman. Both were taken to an area hospital.
