• Trinity Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas, where the road passes Bell Helicopter's facility, had a reputation for flooding during storms because of drainage issues.
• Now it has a reputation for being closed altogether because rains over the weekend washed out the beginnings of a project to improve the situation.
• City officials said they were in the process of putting the road onto a bridge to cure the chronic closures because of high water, but the rains were more than the temporary arrangement could withstand.

The city has a problem in deciding what to do now. Starting directly on the bridge would close the road for three months. That may seem to outsiders like the obvious course to take, but officials say they need to know if Bell, area residents and school districts can all live with the current detour on an ongoing basis.
