- Back in March, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics had some cheery things to say about all parts of the construction industry through the rest of this decade.
- In a 22-page section of its "Occupational Outlook Handbook," BLS said that for the period 2010-2020, the experts expect the industry to add about 1.8 million new jobs in construction trades and related occupations such as plumbers and electricians.
- The report has a realistic take on the longer view, saying that despite the expected growth, the agency does not expect construction to make up all of 2.2 million jobs lost between 2006 and 2010.
