- In Channelview, TX, outside of Houston, a 90-year-old woman shook up construction workers last week when she pointed her shotgun their way and expressed her displeasure with the work near the house where she's lived for 46 years.
- County deputy constables responded to the situation. They talked with the woman and, when she put down her gun briefly, rushed the house and got the gun, then gently took her into custody.
- The woman was brought to an area hospital for evaluation.

A marine-towing company has bought up a number of houses in the area and taken them down for construction work it is doing on both sides of the woman's house. Neighbors said the woman has turned down offers to buy her home and is unhappy with the work going on around her.
