- In Santa Clara, Calif., a truck driver for a steel subcontractor died of injuries he suffered when a load of rebar fell on him while it was being unloaded from a flat bed truck at the 49ers football team's Levi's Stadium about 6:30 a.m. Monday.
- The driver in the stadium accident worked for Gerdau Ameristeel, which is a sub to Turner/Devcon, the general contractor for the stadium.

The truck driver's death was the second fatal accident at the stadium in four months. In June, an elevator mechanic was killed by a falling counterweight.
