Dive Brief:
- A conveyor malfunctioned at a construction site in downtown Seattle on Thursday, hurting three workers.
- Firefighters worked with an onsite crane to bring two of the injured from a location 75 feet below ground level.
- None of the workers was reported to be seriously injured, but the site on Lenora Street, not far from the city's ferry terminals, was closed for the day for an investigation.
Dive Insight:
Sellen Construction is working on the site, and a Sellen crane operator handled getting firefighters down to the two injured workers and all of the back to ground level. Sellen workers train with firefighters for such situations, including an exercise last weekend at a nearby site, a company spokesman said.
