Dive Brief:
-
Commercial and residential contractors reported the largest increase in revenue per job in 2014 since the start of the recession, according to a Contractor Behavior Survey by L.E.K. Consulting.
-
The survey also showed the highest year-over-year increase since 2010 in the number of jobs for contractors.
-
In addition, optimism is growing among residential and commercial contractors, who predicted further revenue growth and gains in the number of jobs coming their way in the near future.
Dive Insight:
Although some studies have shown that the commercial construction recovery is outpacing the housing recovery, the L.E.K. survey projected that commercial construction could slightly lag behind residential growth over the near term.
