- A look at how construction fared with the latest federal report on employment finds that 30 states and the District of Columbia had more jobs in May than they had in April.
- The same analysis said 40 states and D.C. were ahead of where they had been in May 2013.

Dive Insight:
It is hard to assess the monthly numbers that roll in about construction jobs, construction starts, materials prices and the rest. In the case of jobs, recent reports said the overall economy has now created as many jobs as it lost during the recession (8 million), but AGC officials noted that construction job totals remain below the boom time.
