Dive Brief:
- The ENR Construction Industry Confidence Index, compiled quarterly, went from 69 to 67 between the second and third quarters of this year.
- The 67 leaves the index is strongly positive territory, and the third quarter did not wreck early-year optimism like it did in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
- ENR sends surveys to 3,000 contracting, subcontracting and design executives, and the third-quarter is based on 375 returns.
Dive Insight:
Executives seem to be convinced that the recovery is real for them because they told ENR that almost everything is in growth mode. The survey asks them about the current market, where they think things will be in three top six months and what they see out a year to a year and a half.
