Dive Brief:

• The Builders Association of Huntsville/Madison County, in Alabama, has announced a new streamlined inspection procedure for Madison County to include the updated statewide energy code which began last October and will be officially launched on Jan. 1, 2014.

• It is the first county in the state to adopt an energy-code procedure that is consistent across each of its three inspection departments.

• The Builders Association, Huntsville, Madison, HMCBA Green Building Council, the HMCBA Governmental Affairs Committee and Madison County Commission all worked in tandem to create the streamlined inspection process that incorporate the new codes.​
