Dive Brief:
- The president's State of the Union address included what the construction industry believes is the right call for repairs to U.S. infrastructure, including highways, but Associated General Contractors of America noted that he did not address how to pay for what's needed.
- Of particular concern, AGC said, are a bill to deal with water resources and the Highway Trust Fund, which is set to run out of money for new projects by the end of this fiscal year.
- Obama likened infrastructure programs to corporate tax reform. AGC noted that congressional Republicans take issue with making changes to particular tax provisions outside of an overall tax-reform plan.
