Travel in Africa is driving four major airport projects

  • Contractors are carrying out projects that will increase the passenger capacity of airports in Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya and Egypt.
  • Dorsch Consult Airports GmBH isthe program manager and China Harbour Engineering Co. is doing the construction for a $1.2 billion facility near Khartou, Sundan. Rwanda is building Bugesera International Airport to replace Kigali Airport
  • When all the jobs are done, capacity at the continent's airports will go up 36.8 million passengers from the 133.5 million people who moved through them last year.
