The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District has awarded AECOM a package of architect-engineer indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts valued at more than $400 million, according to a July 21 news release from the Dallas-based firm.
The three multi-award IDIQ contracts are for critical infrastructure projects that aim to boost capacity, modernize existing facilities and support long-term mission-readiness across the Pacific area of responsibility. IDIQs are a type of contract that provide for an indefinite quantity of supplies or services during a fixed period of time, per the Congressional Research Service.
The IDIQ contracts’ scope includes providing environmental planning services, delivering sustainable architectural and civil design solutions and providing strategic planning expertise tailored to the unique challenges of the Pacific region, according to the release.
“AECOM has proudly partnered with the Honolulu District for more than six decades, and these new awards represent a continued commitment to advancing the U.S. Department of Defense’s Pacific Deterrence Initiative throughout the region,” said Matt Crane, chief executive of AECOM’s U.S. West region, in the release.
AECOM has extensive experience in the Pacific region, per the release. Its significant projects in the area include:
- U.S. Army Pacific Command and Control Facility at Fort Shafter in Honolulu.
- Echo Pier restoration on the Kwajalein Atoll.
- Sand Island Wastewater Secondary Treatment Plant upgrade in Honolulu.
- Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Dry Dock Environmental Impact Statement.
- Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Area Development Plan.
